2018 PAC 12 Predictions

This week Logan ans Andrew discuss the PAC-12 and the many new coaches there:

 

at the 5:54 mark we begin our discussion of Arizona State and their acquisition of Herm Edwards. Much has been made about the decision to bring on Herm, and what a 64 year old who's last experience with football was 10 years ago in the NFL can bring to a college football program. What can we expect out of Herm's first year?

 

at the 13:31 mark Logan and Andrew talk about their high expectations for Kevin Sumlin as he steps into the Head Coaching Position at Arizona.

 

at 21:06 Andrew goe into great detail about why he has alot of hope for Oregon this year.

 

at 25:25 We talk about the new coach at Oregon State and how long it may take for this team to make a bowl game in future seasons.

 

at 32:04 We discuss Chip Kelly's return to college football at UCLA. His stint in the NFL is often frowned upon by critics but Andrew mentions how, compared to coaches who made similar job changes, it could be viewed as a success. We discuss the Chip Kelly style and how it will impact the way things are run at UCLA.

 

at 41:19 we discuss USC. We also talk about why they St. Brown family is obsessed with making their children into Pharaohs and the number of talented private schools in California. Oh yeah, in case you missed it USC is going to be good this year.

 

at 48:17 we discuss Utah and throw in some interewsting facts about Weber State.

 

at 52:15 we discuss Colorado and how coach McEntyre is on the hotseat this year.

 

55:57 we discuss Washington State and some of the issues they've dealt with this offseason.

1:03:33 Stanford is loaded with talent, could potentially be a 1 seed in the playoff, and they have endowments for their coaches.

 

1:09:48 we talk about Washington, because we love coach Peterson.

2018 Big 10 Predictions

This week Logan, Andrew, and Artem discuss the ins and outs of the BIG 10. This year's BIG 10 conference looks to be a bit Top heavy with Wisconsin and Ohio State being the prime suspects to make it out of their divisions. We discuss the questions that Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, and Iowa need to answer in order to challenge the top two teams this year. We also look into the prospects of developing teams such as Purdue, Nebraska, and Minnesota. Andrew romances NorthWestern fans with sweet talk and we try to determine why people keep badmouthing Rutgers when they share a conference with Illinois.

2018 Sunbelt and Independent Predictions

This week Tommy joins Andrew and Logan to discuss the Sunbelt and Independent teams. We have to cover the Sunbelt; despite Logan's trepidation Tommy goes into detail about the East and Texas State and Andre discusses the interesting "ownership/coaching" situation at coastal carolina. For independents Andrew goes into great detail on Army and Notre Dame, while Tommy delivers a fascinating disscussion regarding Liberty and BYU. 

Confrence USA and MAC 2018 predictions

This week Andrew and Logan Talk about the C-USA and the MAC. So many teams, and so little time. The MAC has alot of parity this year below the power house of Toledo.many of these teams expect surges in wins this year. Meanwhile in C-USA all expectations lie with FAU, but could a potential darkhorse like Marshall or North Texas surprise fans? Tune in to find out what we think.

2018 Mountain West Conference Preview

This week Andrew, Artem, and Logan discuss some of their favorite vacation spots out west in New Mexico, Colorado, California, and Idaho. Oh yeah, we also talk about college football. We talk about the perceptions surrounding the Mountain West and how despite the fact that there are many interesting teams, at the end of the day it all copmes down to Boise State. We also cover San Diego State and Fresno State and which of those teams will challenge the Broncos in conference. How will Wyoming do without Josh Allen, can Colorado State beat Florida, what issues does Hawaii face as a program. All this and more this week on The Toe Meets Leather Podcast.

2018 American Conference Predictions

This week Andrew, Artem, and Logan discuss the American conference. Artem takes some shots at the self-proclaimed 2018 National Champion UCF. For good or bad UCF has accrued alot of publicity by claiming the championship, Artem and Andrew have differing views on UCF going into the season. We also discuss Charlie Strong and his USF squad which is filled with young talent. Andrew gushes about Navy and Ken "Kenny" Niumatalolo. Logan uses all his might to hype up MEmphis going into the upcoming season. We also discuss the darkhorses in Temple and SMU as well as our expectations down the line for cinicnatti. Additionally we try to decide who of the bottom teams will find the most success in the American.

We're Back! 2017 Recap

After a long hiatus the Toe Meets Leather Crew is back! Andrew and Logan Recap the 2017 football season. We briefly discuss the gambit of emotions GT fans went through watching uga work their way through the playoffs. Andrew begrudgingly covers Georgia Tech's season and how close we came to having sucess only to fall into mediocrity. In place of Artem we cover the cult of Texas A&M. We also talk about our favorite and least favorite parts of the season and how we feel about UCF's national title.
